Isaiah Flores, a Grade 12 student at Vancouver college, is looking forward to being a part of the OWOH team for his last year in High School.This year, he has the pleasure of joining the wonderful team as well as being one of the Co-Directors of the Conference. Aside from OWOH, You can find him napping when he is supposed to be studying or watching This Is Us. Not to mention he enjoys long walks on the beach😊
Vera is a Grade 11 student who is exhilarated to be part of this year's leadership team. She has always been interested in social justice issues but after attending her first OWOH conference 3 years ago she felt even more empowered to make a difference. Besides helping out on OWOH, some of the activities Vera enjoys include napping for longer than her daily night's rest, eating instant noodles, and playing the oboe. She is thrilled to meet all the participants at the OWOH 2020 conference.
Currently in his junior year at Vancouver College, Brandon is thrilled to be a part of this year’s leadership team. Although this is his first OWOH conference, it is certainly not his first foray into addressing social justice issues. Last year, he went on a service trip to South Bronx, New York to work with students at two inner city schools. Outside of school, Brandon is an executive of the Youth Musicians and Artists Association, a non-profit group that delivers regular performances in senior homes. Brandon’s current interests include playing post-ARCT piano pieces and participating on the VC Robotics team. He is looking forward to an amazing conference this year!
Anna is currently a Grade 10 student at LFA and this is her first year on the One World One Heart leadership team. She has greatly enjoyed attending the conference for the last two years and is so excited to both lead the 2020 conference and share this unique and inspiring experience with many other high school students. Anna hopes you will enjoy this year’s One World One Heart conference and can’t wait to see you all there!
Ariana is beyond ecstatic to be a member of OWOH 2020’s leadership team! Although already aware of the multitude of social issues present in the world today, attending her first OWOH conference in 2019 further inspired her to truly explore these issues and to take action in resolving them. In her spare time, Ariana can be found napping or spending far too much on bubble tea with friends. Currently a junior at LFA, Ariana is incredibly honoured to be part of such an amazing leadership team, and she hopes that all who attend OWOH 2020 are inspired to take action!

Trisha is a Grade 12 student at Little Flower Academy and is overjoyed to be a Director for the 2020 iteration of the One World One Heart Social Justice Conference. Her passion for social justice began when she attended her first OWOH conference in 2017, and from there, she increasingly began to notice the many social inequalities that existed and was inspired to take action. Aside from OWOH, Trisha can be found stressing over Rehumanity Foundation’s events and procrastinating by watching The Office over and over. This February, she wants everyone to leave the conference feeling empowered as she once was to become an advocate for social justice.
Mateo, a Grade 12 student at Vancouver College, is thrilled to be a part of the OWOH team for 2020. This is Mateo’s first year as a leader, and decided to join after being inspired by the conference in 2019. Having led school retreats and being an outgoing person gives Mateo the benefit of being a leader as socializing and speaking out comes second hand. At school, while not sleeping in class, Mateo can be found on the football field, making tiktoks, or making music.
Currently in her senior year at LFA, Deborah is elated to be part of this year’s OWOH leadership team. She attended her first OWOH conference three years ago, and was instantly captivated by the multifaceted social justice topics at hand. Aside from taking part in social justice initiatives, Deborah can be found taking four hour long naps, complaining about the rigor of Calculus AB, or trying to get on the For You page of TikTok with her friends. She looks forward to meeting all the attendees at OWOH 2020!
This is Ben’s first year on the OWOH leadership team. He is currently in grade 11 at Vancouver College and enjoys playing sports in his free time. Social justice has always been a topic that Ben is interested in and wants to explore more, which is why he decided to join the team this year. Ben is looking forward to seeing you and hopes you will have a good time at the OWOH 2020 conference in February!
AJ is in his senior year of Grade 12 and is thrilled to be part of the OWOH leadership team this year. He is aware of the social problems that flood the world today and is interested in finding solutions through action. Though this OWOH conference is the first one he is going to, he finds that new experiences are something to grow and learn from as a person. Aside from preparing for the conference, AJ loves to watch movies, sleep until late in the afternoon on the weekends, chatting with his friends how challenging Grade 12 is. AJ is enthusiastic and passionate to be a part of this year’s leadership team and meet all the bright people at the conference in February.

Gabriel is a Grade 11 student at Vancouver College. He first attended the 2018 conference and was inspired by the dedication of the members. Their genuine efforts to tackle important overlooked issues, inspired him to join the team. He is ecstatic to be a part of the team for his second year, and to work with Isaiah and Trisha as co-directors of OWOH 2020. He hopes this year's conference will inspire everyone to participate in today's battle against social justice issues. He believes this years theme "actions speak louder than words" is central to this generation's pivotal role in shaping the world for the better. He can't wait for this fun-filled, inspiring day! Outside of OWOH, you can spot him out-squash-ing kids, saxophoning, or like Trisha, binging the office again.
Renai, currently in Gr. 10 at LFA, is beyond thrilled to be a part of the OWOH 2020 team. After being a guest speaker for one of the sessions in the previous year, Renai was instantly eager to join the team in making an impact on teens today. Renai was always drawn into learning more about social justice issues and ways to help the community, even starting her own organization called The Giving Truck which aims to encourage the youth to random acts of service. She is so excited for OWOH 2020 and can’t wait to see everyone there!
Neil is currently a Grade 11 student at Vancouver College and is honoured to be a part of the OWOH Team this year. This is not his first time diving into addressing social justice issues. He has attended two OWOH conferences, volunteered with the program Social Diversity for Children, and is a part of the group of VC students heading to service trip to the South Bronx this year. His hobbies include: Playing the trumpet, drawing, and traveling. In his spare time, Neil enjoys sleeping, eating, and spends countless hours mastering the art of Tik Tok dancing in hopes of getting viral. He is delighted to be a part of the OWOH Team and can’t wait to see everyone at this year's conference.
Sarah, currently in her senior year, is extremely excited to help lead this year’s One World One Heart social justice conference! She has been attending these conferences since her first year at LFA and she looks forward to bringing together high school students to make a change in our society. When she is not at OWOH meetings, Sarah can be found drinking large Tim’s iced coffees and rewatching bad Hallmark Christmas movies. She is looking forward to meeting new people at the conference!
Trinity Ma, currently a 10th grade student at LFA, is honored and absolutely elated to be part of this year’s OWOH leadership team. After attending her first OWOH conference 2 years ago, Trinity was inspired to take action against the many injustices in the world. She hopes that OWOH 2020 will inspire all its attendees and motivate them to be passionate advocates for a better world. Besides exploring new social justice initiatives, Trinity can always be found laughing with (or at) her friends, having way too much caffeine and hugging her fluffy cat. Trinity is incredibly excited for OWOH 2020 and is looking forward to meeting you all!
